What is Mother of Pearl?
Mother of pearl is one of the most beautiful materials produced by nature. The brilliant white iridescent material comes from the shells of large oysters harvested off the coast of Australia. The material is becoming harder and harder to find especially in larger sizes. Mother of pearl is also called "nacre". This incredible material is commonly used for fine knife handles, jewelry, watches, musical instrument inlays and more.
