Low carbon steel outer layers.

Working: can be ground as is or forged.
Heat Treat: instructions for HT will be included with each bar. It is a fairly simple oil quenching HT process.
This is some of the finest Japanese blade steel similar to sword steel and makes great kitchen knives, hunting knives etc.
White paper steel is extremely fine grain takes a razor edge and makes great kitchen knives. The bars with Blue Paper Steel cores are tougher and better suited for more hard use applications.
