About:
Thousands of years ago when sea levels were lower, what is now the North Sea was a huge plain connecting Europe to the Brittish Isles. These plains were home to herds of mammoths, wooly rhinos, horses, reindeer and many more animals. The reindeer fossils were found on the floor of the North Sea where they have been for many thousands of years.
The products we offer are fossils dated from the Pleistocene geological era (before last geological period), it extends from 2.58 million years to 12,000 years BC. We are not sure of the exact age of these pieces.
Processing and dimensions
Fossil reindeer antler is a hard material. However, it is not yet petrified. Therefore, normal tools for bone and horn are sufficient. Diamond tools are useful, but not necessary. We generally recommend hard steel tools and low processing speeds.
The dimensions depend a lot on the input material. Obviously, the raw bones have different sizes. Normally, they are found as fragments. Thus, the product sizes are also limited to smaller objects.
