Laminated Steel San Mai- O1 Core with 420 SS outer and Nickel foil layer between 01 and 420 for added contrast.
O1 core, nickel foil spacers, 420 stainless cladding.
Heat treat the same as you normally would 01 steel.
Available in 0.100" thickness and 3/16" thickness.
This steel is commercially produced in the USA. It is 5 layers(420/Ni/O1/Ni/420) laminated together. The lines between layers will be mostly straight as it is commercially produced in sheets similar to the Hitachi laminated billets that we sell.
